First of all, she’s an actress. Using the word actor for a girl sounds pretentious.
Secondly, she is able to channel emotions and take gritty roles like Leon: The Professional. Even tho I liked the movie, she was 12 years old and had the filthiest mouth and was put in the worst situations. You would think any parent would not want their kid in that movie. But no, she was in it and she did well. She took on roles like The Diary of Anne Frank in Broadway that sealed her reputation as a good actress.
